Tyra Banks was born to Carolyn London and Donald Banks on the 4th of December in 1973 in Inglewood, California, the USA. Both her mother and father worked in the computer consulting industry; her mother was a medical photographer. Devin is her elder brother.

When she was six, her parents separated, and she and her brother split their time between their mother and father. On the weekends, they would go see their father.
