Anneliese van der Pol is a Dutch-American actress and singer. She is best known for her stage performances as well as her starring roles in the Disney Channel television series That’s So Raven (2003–2007) and Raven’s Home (2017–2021). She was born in the Netherlands and grew up in the United States.

Anneliese van der Pol’s parents, Dyan Ross and Willem van der Pol, welcomed her into the world on September 23, 1984, in Naaldwijk, the Netherlands. Since she was a small child, her family has lived in the United States. Her mother, who was born in the United States, named her after Holocaust survivor Anne Frank.

A recent graduate of the Orange County High School of the Arts Musical Theater Program, Anneliese (pronounced AH-na-LEE-zah) has already made a name for herself in the field. She made history as the youngest actress – at the age of 15 – to play the role of Eva Péron in a professional production of Evita in 1996 at the Buena Park Civic Theater, earning her acclaim from the Los Angeles Times for her enthralling performance.

For Austin Musical Theater, Anneliese most recently appeared as Laurey in Oklahoma! (1955). She was nominated for both the Austin Critics Table Award for “Best Actress in a Musical” and the B. Iden Payne Award for “Best Featured Actress in a Musical” for her performance.

As Esther Smith in the Houston production of Theatre Under the Stars’ musical production of Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), Van der Pol made her theatrical debut again in 2009.

In the Disney Channel original comedy series That’s So Raven, she played Chelsea Daniels, Raven’s best friend and sidekick, who frequently drags Raven into hilarious exploits with her (2003). The series went on to become Disney’s most successful show to date, surpassing the milestone of 100 episodes in 2013.




Van der Pol has been on the big screen in the film Divorce: The Musical (2001). Van der Pol also acted as Avery in Bratz (2007), which was one of the most anticipated films of the summer.

Van der Pol made her Broadway debut in 2007 as “Beauty and the Beast’s” final Belle in the production of the same name. Before closing to make way for “The Little Mermaid,” the musical had been running for 13 years.

“Beauty and the Beast” is the Broadway production with the sixth-longest run in the company’s history. Anneliese originated the character of Kathy in the Off-Broadway production of “Vanities” in 2009, and she also recorded the show’s Original Cast Recording.
