Adam Pearce is a retired professional wrestler from the United States of America who is presently working by WWE as the Director of Live Events, producer, coach, and on-screen official. He is a five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a five-time NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, and a former PWG World Heavyweight Champion. Adam Pearce Biography

Pearce attended Waukegan High School in Waukegan, Illinois, where he lettered in football and baseball. Pearce was diagnosed with acute muscular compartment syndrome in both of his lower legs between his junior and senior years and had surgery.

As a result, he had to “very much relearn how to walk” and ceased participating in sports. He met professional wrestling gurus Sonny Rogers and Randy Ricci during his convalescence and began training with them in November 1995.

Pearce made his professional wrestling debut on May 16, 1996, just weeks before graduating from high school. Pearce rapidly began wrestling for independent pro wrestling promotions, primarily in Milwaukee and other Wisconsin locations.

He also began touring with Dave Prazak throughout Michigan at this time, and he began working for Dan Curtis’ Northern States Wrestling Alliance (NSWA).

He was a part of the “East Coast Invasion” aspect, where he had an early breakout match versus Reckless Youth near Thanksgiving 1997. Pearce sided with the local Michigan babyfaces accused of defending themselves against Youth, Don Montoya, Lance Diamond, and Twiggy Ramirez.

Pearce and Youth rematched in Ian Rotten’s Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA-Mid South) promotion, where Pearce had previously defeated Cash Flo to win the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Championship.

Pearce was promoted to on-screen WWE authority figure on both Raw and SmackDown in 2020. Vince McMahon directed Pearce to collect the signatures of Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on the contract for their triple threat no holds barred match at Payback on August 28, 2020 episode of SmackDown.

Pearce was successful in signing Strowman and Wyatt, but Reigns declined due to alterations he desired. Pearce was attacked by Braun Strowman on the November 23, 2020, episode of Raw, resulting in Strowman’s suspension for more than two months.

Pearce began a storyline with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on the January 8, 2021 episode of SmackDown. Reigns took issue with Pearce’s recent booking moves, which included scheduling a gauntlet match for that night to select Reigns’ Royal Rumble opponent in 2021.

Despite his on-screen status as a WWE official, Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman pushed higher management to book Pearce into the match as well, making it Pearce’s first scheduled match since 2014 and his first in the WWE since 1997.

Pearce was the final entry in the gauntlet match, but as he prepared to face Shinsuke Nakamura, Reigns and his cousin Jey Uso assaulted Nakamura and Pearce, laying Pearce’s body on top of Nakamura’s for the pinfall victory. As a result, Pearce was chosen to face Reigns at the Royal Rumble.

Pearce was replaced by Kevin Owens on the January 15th broadcast of SmackDown, claiming he was not “medically cleared” to compete.

Paul Heyman challenged Pearce to a match on the January 22nd episode of SmackDown but was replaced at the last minute by Roman Reigns, who attacked Pearce before Kevin Owens intervened.

Pearce and Braun Strowman, under the supervision of Shane McMahon, challenged Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin for the Raw Tag Team Championship on the March 1, 2021, episode of Raw.

Pearce was pinned after Strowman grudgingly tagged in Pearce at Shane McMahon’s request. On the March 3, 2021, episode of WWE NXT, Shayna Baszler applied the kirifuda clutch to the point where Pearce called for a referee to come down to the ring as Baszler passed out Dakota Kai despite the fact that she was not the legitimate opponent.

This gave Nia Jax and Baszler the victory and allowed them to keep their championships. Pearce was attacked by Brock Lesnar on the October 22, 2021, episode of Smackdown after he suspended Lesnar for his wrongful conduct outside the ring.




Pearce sanctioned Lesnar on the October 29, 2021, episode of Smackdown, ordering him to pay a one-million-dollar fee in addition to the suspension.
