Joe Manganiello’s parents, Charles John and Susan Manganiello welcomed him into the world on December 28, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is believed that his father is of Italian heritage and that his mother is of Armenian, German, and Croatian background.

He grew up with his younger brother, Nicholas, in the Pennsylvania town of Mt. Lebanon. St. Bernard School, then Mt. Lebanon High School, where he graduated with honors, were his first and second schools, respectively.

He excelled in sports such as football, basketball, and volleyball, and he used to serve as the captain of the teams for all three sports at his high school, where he was a standout performer. He first appeared on stage in the role of Jud Fry in his high school’s production of the play ‘Oklahoma!’
