Paul Van Haver was born on the 12th of March, 1985, in the Belgian capital of Brussels. His mother is Belgian and his father is Rwandan, hence he has dual nationality.

As a result of his father’s death during the Rwandan Genocide, he and his siblings were raised by their grandmother. He received his education in a Roman Catholic Jesuit institution.

He had struggled academically, which was one of the reasons he chose to pursue a career in music instead. His music draws significantly on the sounds of Belgian New Beat music as well as Congolese music for inspiration.

His second studio album, ‘Racine Carree,’ was released in 2013 and became even more popular.
