Steve Harvey is an American all-around performer who works in a variety of capacities – as a comedian, a television presenter, a producer, and a radio personality, to name a few of many hats. He is also the host of the Steve Harvey Show on TBS.

Harvey began his professional career as a stand-up comedian, and he quickly advanced to the role of actor. It’s interesting to note that his television and cinema debuts occurred roughly concurrently.

Steve Harvey was given the name Broderick Stephen Harvey when he was born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, United States, to Jesse Harvey and Eloise Vera, who raised him. His father, Jesse, worked as a coal miner in his previous life.

When Steve was a child, the Harvey family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Glenville High School provided him with the last piece of his pre-college education. After graduating from high school in 1974, he went on to study at Kent State University and West Virginia University, where he was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, among other things.
