Sheck Wes Biography

Sheck Wes was born Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall Mbengue on September 10, 1998, in Harlem, New York City. His parents immigrated to the United States from Senegal. Sheck’s father, who could not communicate effectively in English, began working as a tailor in Harlem. His father eventually began working for well-known American designers such as Dapper Dan.

Sheck had a difficult upbringing. His family house was destroyed in an unintentional fire when he was a year old. As a result, his family was compelled to seek refuge in a shelter.

Sheck and his parents were then able to relocate. Regrettably, their second home was also destroyed by fire, forcing them to relocate to public housing.
