Ronald Steven Lauder was born on February 26 1944 in New York City, New York. He’s been reared Jewish. Prior to attending the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the Bronx Hochschule of Science.

He pursued his academic studies at the University of Paris and obtained an International Business Certificate from Brussels University.

Since 1967 he has married Jo Carole Knopf Lauder and has two children, Aerin and Jane.
