Mikael Temrowski, born in 1992, is a Motown-influenced artist who started making songs while still in high school. The next year, while a student at Michigan State University, he collaborated with his Ann Arbor-based acquaintance ayokay on the creation of new tracks.

Quinn first garnered prominence in 2013 with the release of his hip-hop mixtape Shlup, but his popularity grew as his tracks turned more pop-oriented.

Following the release of his Change of Scenery EP in the spring of 2015, his single “Stung” was released via the Atlantic imprint Taste and Tone later in the same calendar year.

Quinn’s EP Bloom was released in early 2016, and it featured the song “Kings of Summer,” a duet with ayokay.

In late 2016 and early 2017, the band released a pair of catchy tunes, “Straightjacket” and “Make Time,” which became radio hits.

The latter was featured on the former’s official full-length debut, The Story of Us, which was published in September 2017 on Columbia Records and is available on iTunes. The album debuted in the Top 30 of the Billboard Top R&B Albums list in 2007.

Next year, Quinn secured a management contract with Visionary Music Group, which resulted in the publication of a deluxe edition of his debut album that had an additional disc of songs, including “What the Hell Happened to Us,” a duet with Kailee Morgue on which they performed “What the Hell Happened.”

In addition, the single “Middle Finger,” a collaboration with Phoebe Ryan, and the solo single “Panama” were released in 2018.

“Werewolf,” a collaboration with Yoshi Flower, “Tough,” a collaboration with Noah Kahan, and “Life Must Go On,” a collaboration with Jon Bellion, were among the tracks on his second album, From Michigan with Love, which came out in February 2019.

Following an international tour, Quinn returned in January 2020 with the single “Two 10s,” which was taken from her upcoming album.

In July of that year, he released his third studio album, A Letter to My Younger Self, which included the song “Coffee,” which he co-wrote with Marc E. Bassy. It reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart at number 56.

Quinn ended the year with the single “Stay Next to Me,” which featured Chelsea Cutler. That music also served as the opening track on his fourth studio album, Change of Scenery II, which was released in 2021.

The album, which was produced and recorded entirely in ayokay’s home studio in Rhode Island, also featured collaborations with Jeremy Zucker and Alexander 23, among others.
