Parminder Nagra was born on October 5th, 1975, to Sukha and Nashuter Nagra in Leicester, England. She was raised by Sikhs from a working-class background. Her parents were manufacturing workers who came to the United States from Punjab, India, in the 1960s.

Her parents were devout Catholics, and she was the eldest of four siblings. Performing arts have always piqued Parminder’s interest since she was a little girl.

In Leicester, she attended ‘Northfield House Primary School,’ where she regularly watched films and TV shows. While attending ‘Soar Valley School,’ she learned to play the viola and performed with an orchestra on it. At ‘Soar Valley,’ she also began acting in plays.

Her parents expected her to continue her education after high school. Parminder, on the other hand, is more into acting and theatre.
