Nikki Sixx Biography

Nikki Sixx was born Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna in San Jose, California on December 11, 1958, to Deana Richards, a single mother. He was reared by his mother for a brief period of his youth, after which he moved in with his grandparents after his mother abandoned the family.

He relocated several times throughout his life, and while he was in Jerome, Idaho, he became a delinquent, breaking into neighbors’ homes, shoplifting, and selling drugs.

He came to Los Angeles when he was 17 years old and performed a variety of odd jobs, including selling vacuum cleaners and working at a liquor shop. He was lured to the concept of being in a band and finally became a member of the group ‘Sister’. He dated and lived with Lita Ford in the 1980s.

Six years later, he began dating Vanity and chronicled their difficult relationship in his autobiography. Gunner Nicholas Six, Storm Brieann Sixx, and Decker Nilsson Sixx are their three children. He married Donna D’Erico, another Playboy Playmate, following his breakup with Brandt. Together, they have a daughter, Frankie-Jean Sixx.

They split, reconciled, and then divorced in 2007. From 2008 until 2010, he was in a relationship with renowned tattoo artist Kat Von D. Following his breakup with Von D, he began dating and is presently living with Courtney Brigham.

He was fired from the band along with another bandmate, Lizzie Grey, following the completion of a demo. In 1978, they established the group ‘London’. He soon left the band. He quit the group in 1980 and co-founded ‘Mötley Crüe’ with Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil.

The following year, they recorded their debut album, ‘Too Fast for Love,’ which was published under the band’s own label, Leathür Records.

On September 26, 1983, the band released their second studio album, ‘Shout at the Devil,’ propelling them to national prominence. They published a run of albums between 1985 and 1989, including ‘Theatre of Pain’, ‘Girls, Girls, Girls, and the chart-topping ‘Dr. Feelgood’.

The band was performing incredibly well at the time, but Sixx had developed a heroin addiction and had been in rehabilitation clinics several times by this point.

On October 1, 1991, the band issued ‘Decade of Decadence,’ a compilation CD of all their hit songs. They released a self-titled album three years later with the band’s newest member, John Corabi, before firing him in 1996.

They released their seventh heavy metal album, ‘Generation Swine’, in 1997. Tommy Lee departed the band after two years and founded the ad hoc ensemble ‘Methods of Mayhem’. Randy Castillo took over his post.

In 2000, the group reworked all of their tracks and released ‘New Tattoo’ as an album. The following year, Sixx published his best-selling autobiography, ‘The Dirt,’ in which he dubbed the band ‘the world’s most renowned rock band. He founded project ’58’, an internet-based alternative initiative, in 2000. The group published its self-titled debut album, ‘Diet for a New America,’ as well as a single, ‘Piece of Candy.’

Sixx founded ‘Brides of Destruction’ with Tracii Guns from 2002 to 2004 during the Mötley Crüe’s hiatus. They published the chart-topping album ‘Here Come the Brides.’ In October 2004, the group announced a pause while Sixx rejoined the ‘Mötley Crüe.’

In 2004, the ‘Mötley’ Crüe reformed. Two years later, the band reunited for a reunion tour with all of the band’s original members. In 2006, he founded the band ‘Sixx: A.M.’ with the intention of recording an audio supplement to his book, ‘The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star,’ which was published the following year.

They launched the first-ever ‘Crüe Fest’ in 2008, featuring Sixx’s side project ‘Sixx: A.M., Buckcherry, Papa Roach, and Trapt. They released their ninth studio album, ‘Saints of Los Angeles’, the following year.

He debuted his own radio show, ‘Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx,’ on February 8, 2010, which broadcast on all major rock/alternative music stations. The show was rescheduled for the morning slot two years later. Apart from this radio show, he also broadcasts a weekend program called ‘The Side Show with Nikki Six’.
