In Upper Manhattan, New York City, Luz Towns, and Luis A. Miranda Jr. welcomed their son Lin-Manuel Miranda on January 16, 1980. Ed Koch’s father was a consultant to the mayor of New York City, and his mother was a clinical psychologist who worked in private practice.
