Lacey Nicole Chabert was born in the tiny town of Purvis, Mississippi, USA, on 30 September 1982 to Julie and Tony Chabert. Her father is mostly Cajun and English, and her mother is Scottish and Italian.

She was raised with her two elder sisters, Wendy and Chrissy, and a younger brother. Her father worked for an oil firm as a maintenance agent.

She attended a conventional school and spent most of her youth in the woods with her siblings. Throughout her school years, she participated in a variety of inter-school and neighborhood productions. Lacey was a member of the church choir. Her grandma took the Chabert sisters to music lessons.

In 1985, she competed in the ‘World’s Our Little Miss Scholarship Competition’ and received the title of ‘World’s Baby Petite. This was not her alone accomplishment.
