Her mother and father are both former physical education teachers. They have two sons, one named Rob and the other named Kristy. She started interested in performing when she was nine years old and told her parents about it.

She then began to appear in commercials on television. Her first modeling job as a child was in a commercial for a specific brand of dollhouses.
