Joshua William Dun is an American artist who was born on June 18, 1988. He is best known for playing drums, percussion, and trumpet alongside Tyler Joseph in the American musical duo Twenty One Pilots. He’s also worked with a wide range of musicians. Dun was born in Columbus, Ohio, to hospice social worker Laura Lee Dun (née McCollum) and physical therapy assistant William Earl “Bill” Dun. He had two sisters and a brother when he was growing up.
Dun grew up listening to punk rock. Dun’s parents used to have strict guidelines on what kind of music he should listen to, saying, “I’d cover albums like Green Day’s Dookie underneath my bunk.” “Occasionally, they’d track them down and become enraged.Dun joined House of Heroes in March 2010 after the band’s drummer, Colin Rigsby, left to spend more time with his family.
