Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh Biography

Jeffrey Kent Dudman was born in Santa Monica, California, on December 9, 1960. He was reared in a large and difficult blended household that included his stepfather Bill Marsh (who later adopted Swampy and changed his last name to Marsh).

As a child, Marsh thought that the media never addressed the relationship coherently enough to make it appear “normal,” which Marsh felt was unreasonable given that the majority of his friends came from divorced or blended families.

Marsh spent his summer vacations staying active, digging ditches and tunnels, creating tree huts, and forts.

He and his family were involved in a variety of musical activities, with musical ties reaching all the way back to Marsh’s grandpa, Les Brown. Marsh grew up in a household brimming with musical instruments, and throughout the years, he learned to play the banjo, trombone, trumpet, and guitar.

Marsh recalls singing into phony microphones and forming full-fledged rock bands with his friends and family.

Marsh studied architectural drawing classes in high school and college, as well as participated in a few theatres plays, all of which helped him comprehend the perspective of a set builder.




Marsh currently resides in Venice, California, where he enjoys surfing on a regular basis. He is the father of two children, who have produced four grandkids.
