Jacquees was born in Decatur, a city in the state of Georgia, on April 15, 1994. Along with his brothers and sisters, he was educated there.
At age nine, after being inspired by the music of the Jacksons and the Temptations, he discovered his love for singing and dancing. At first, however, he did not listen to their music; instead, the biographical television mini-series influenced him.
All by himself, with ample practice, he perfected his craft and never had a vocal instructor. He also began writing songs in addition to singing, often with his peers, when he was only 12.
He grew up listening to Usher, Ginuwine, R. Kelly, Jodeci, Boyz II Men and Hot Boys, as well as R&B and hip-hop stars. He also listened to a lot of classical music, as his mother liked Luther Vandross and Marvin Gaye.
Jacquees, who would sing frequently while watching the films, was encouraged by his family and relatives. He participated in a talent show for the first time at Canby Lane Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia, when he was in fifth grade. By performing Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’, he won 1st place.

The single ‘Krazy’ was released, which provided him with more exposure.
One year later, he released his second mixtape called ‘Fan Affiliated’ on August 29, 2012. His next mixtape, ‘Quemix,’ which came out on May 1, 2013, took him almost another year to release.
Jacquees independently released ’19’, his second extended play, on March 25, 2014. The EP consisted of 11 songs from a variety of stars from the music industry and featured guest appearances.
