Jacquelyn Ellen Smith was born on October 26, 1945, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from high school with aspirations of becoming a successful ballerina. She got a job as a Breck shampoo model in 1973. She was offered the role of Charlie’s Angels in a new pilot for a proposed television series in 1976. (1976). When it premiered on ABC on September 22, 1976, the pilot was slick, and the show was an instant success.

Smith is the only original “Angel” who has stayed with the show for all five seasons (1976-81). She’s also the only “Angel” from the television show to feature in any of the film adaptations. (She made an uncredited appearance as “Kelly Garrett” in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003), giving guidance to the new generation of angels.)

Following Charlie’s Angels (1976), she pursued a career in television, appearing in films such as Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (1981), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, and miniseries such as The Bourne Identity (1988), Rage of Angels (1983), and Windmills of the Gods (1988). Since 1985, she has had her own highly popular clothing line at Kmart, and she is often a spokesperson.

Her first two marriages were to actors Roger Davis and Dennis Cole, both of whom she divorced. Her third marriage to cinematographer Anthony B. Richmond had two children (they divorced in 1989). Dr. Brad Allen, her fourth husband, is a physician. She married him in 1997, and the two co-founded the Smith skincare line.
In 1971, Jaclyn Smith began her modelling career by featuring in television and print advertisements for ‘Breck’ hair-care products. She also posed for the mouthwash ‘Listerine.’ She went on to become a model for the shampoo ‘Wella Balsam.’

In the film ‘Goodbye, Columbus,’ she had her first uncredited acting appearance (1969). She made her film debut in ‘The Adventurers’ in 1970, after appearing in an episode of ‘The Partridge Family.’
