Idina Menzel was born Idina Kim Mentzel on 30 May 1971 in the Syosset hamlet of New York. She was raised in Syosset and graduated from Syosset High School. She earned a BFA in Drama from the ‘Tisch School of the Arts,’ which is associated with New York University.
