Eric Clapton Biography

An unmarried 16-year-old and a Canadian soldier who served in World War II are the parents of Eric Clapton. When his father left for Canada to be with his wife, Patricia’s parents took care of Eric until he was born.

They were his legal guardians until 1963, even though they never adopted him. He attended Hollyfield School in Surbiton for his primary education. Later, he went to Kingston College of Art and studied painting. Unfortunately, he was kicked out of school because of his lack of interest in painting.

He became enamored with the blues from that point on. In 1979, he wed Patty Boyd. Yvonne Kelly, with whom he had a daughter named Ruth, was a lover of his while they were married. Ruth’s birth was kept a secret until 1991.

Lory Del Santo, an Italian model, was the cause of Eric and Boyd’s divorce in 1988. He had a son, Conor, with Santo. In the years that followed, he had numerous affairs.

Julie Rose was born to him in 2001. He married Melia McEnery in Surrey, England, in 2002, and she is the mother of his daughter Julie.

Eric Clapton Career

He became a member of The Roosters, a band, in the early ’60s. After the band disbanded in August 1963, Casey Jones & The Engineers hired him to perform. In October of the same year, he began working with The Yardbirds.

He performed in the Royal Albert Hall in London for this ensemble in the year following that. It was with this band that he recorded his hit “Good Morning, Little Schoolgirl.”

After the release of ‘For Your Love,’ a song, the band gained a lot of attention. His performance on guitar, however, did not inspire him to use commercial sound in the soundtrack.

He joined John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers after leaving The Yardbirds in 1965. As a result of his work with this band, he gained notoriety as a guitarist. He was in Greece with a band called The Glands at the time.

Eric Clapton and the Bluesbreakers made an album together after his comeback, titled “Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton”. As a member of the Powerhouse, a British blues studio supergroup, he appeared in 1966.




In July 1966, he joined Ginger Baker’s newly formed Cream after quitting the Bluesbreakers. This band gave him the chance to show off his talents as a songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist.

While in the band from 1968 to 1969, his contributions to the recording of their hits like “Sunshine of Your Love” and “White Room” were crucial. ‘Badge’, a studio single from the Cream’s final album ‘Goodbye’, was co-written by him and George Harrison.

The British blues-rock band Blind Faith, of which he was later a member, was formed later that year and issued an album by the same name in 1969. He went on a musical tour with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends after the breakup of this band.

As part of UNICEF’s annual fundraising event in London, he appeared on stage. He began singing and writing songs after being inspired by Delaney Bramlett.

Songs were recorded for the CD “Music from Free Creek” with Bramlett. Eric Clapton’s first solo album, ‘Eric Clapton,’ was widely praised in 1970. Derek and the Dominos were born this year.

“Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” was his first album with this band. “461 Ocean Boulevard” was the title of his debut studio album, released in 1974. Like ‘I Shot the Sheriff’, it includes well-known songs.

After the success of this record, his solo career began to blossom. His latest album, ‘There’s One in Every Crowd,’ was released in the following year. ‘The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking’ was a solo album he recorded after releasing several other albums.
