Central Coast Population 2022 Data
Central Coast is a New South Wales region situated on the north shore of Sydney. With over 309,000, it is the third-most populous city in NSW. It is also the 9th largest urban center in Australia.
Based on our findings, the Central Coast population will increase to 320,236 by the close of June 2022. We calculate the end of June each year because the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) always follows the Australian budget when they push the numbers.
The calculation is made based upon the annual average annual growth of 0.67 percent over the last ten years, starting in 2011. Using the most recent year’s figures (see this table in the next section) will make the calculation more precise.

Population Growth of Central Coast
In the ten years since the last Census in Central Coast’s populace, the overall growth rate is stable and steady, with a range of 0.63 percent to 0.70 percent, adding between 1,907-2,160 people every year to the total population.
If you look at the Census of 2011 and the 2016 numbers, the growth rate is just 3.37 percent over five years, growing by 10,029 people.
The reason for the rapid growth of the population is that employment rates and birth rates are both high throughout the years.
In addition, it is located close to Sydney and has a lower home cost, which is another reason to draw people to the area. The population growth rate is lower than the average rate of growth for the country.

According to the most recent Census, 48.3 percent of people living in Central Coast are male, and 50.7 percent are female. The average age in Central Coast is 42.
The top birth countries include: Australia 78.8%, England 4.6 percent, New Zealand 1.7%, Scotland 0.6%, Philippines 0.6 0.6% as well as South Africa 0.5%. The most spoken languages within the country are English 88.5 percent, Spanish 0.5 percent, Mandarin 0.5%, Italian 0.3 0.3%, German 0.3% and Cantonese 0.3 0.3%.
The major religious groups found in Central Coast consist of: No Religion, which is described as 27.6 percent, Catholic 24.8%, Anglican 22.5 percent, Not mentioned 8.1 percent along with Uniting Church 3.2%. For Central Coast, Christianity was the most popular religion identified overall (67.1 percent).

Central Coast population density is approximately 570 people per square mile.
Occupations and Industries
According to the Census, the most prevalent occupations for people in the Central Coast are Professionals 18.6 percent, Technicians and Trades Workers 15.4 percent, Clerical and Administrative Workers 13.7 percent, Community and Personal Service Workers 12.6 percent and Managers 10.9 percent.
The primary industries that the people of Central Coast work in are 4.2 percent employed in Hospitals (except the Psychiatric Hospitals).
Other significant areas of employment are Aged Care Residential Services 3.3 percent, Supermarket and Grocery Stores 2.8 percent, Takeaway Food Services 2.4 percent, and Cafes and Restaurants 2.1%.
12.1% worked 1 to 15 hours, 11.1% worked 16 to 24 hours, and 39.9% employed 40 hours or more.
